Listen: Women, Bar & Restaurant Culture with Ruba Khoury of Dirty Lemon
This month, along with special co-host David Lebovitz, we interviewed Ruba Khoury of Paris cocktail bar Dirty Lemon for my audio show Paris Cocktail Talk. It's a fun listen and you might learn something about mediterranean-inspired small plates too!
Daydream: Think about the bars you'll visit when confinement is done, like Dirty Lemon!
In addition to a monthly interview episode with Ruba Khoury, I also recently wrote up a visit to her cocktail bar Dirty Lemon in the company of good friends. It was the last outing I had before lockdown and I look forward to getting there again when it's lifted. Give it a read for a virtual visit and daydream about the time you'll be able to sample those small plates IRL!
Learn: Champagne & Food Pairing Webinar
Since confinement has meant cancelling her physical events, Cynthia Coutu of the women's champagne networking club, DelectaBulles, has turned to the virtual world and has put together a webinar series where you can learn more about bubbles!
Make: A Home Cocktail Menu
Why not make a home COVID-19 confinement cocktail menu. Read about how I make my seasonal cocktail menus and take some inspiration to make your own lockdown list of drinks with whatever ingredients you have on hand or can easily source!
Read: A Drinkie's Defense of the "Mocktail"
I've got a lot of thoughts and opinions on mocktails. As some of us are trying not to use lockdown as an excuse to drink cocktails everyday, I've been doing a few dry happy hours with non-alcoholic aperitifs. Here's a little food for thought on the subject of cocktails without booze. (And, next week, I'll be doing a whole article on how to do an zero-octane apero)
